"My name is Shelby Newstead and I am an artist living in the beautiful village of Ryarsh.
Art has been a passion of mine for as long as I can remember. When I was little I loved anything that involved drawing or painting, and now, I am incredibly grateful to call this lifelong passion my full time career!
I create both commissioned works and my own collections. I’ve had the privilege of working with wonderful individuals on deeply meaningful projects, it’s one of my favourite parts of my job.
For my collections, each painting I create holds a special place in my heart, and I’m honoured to share my inspirations with you all through my work. My collections range from iconic figures like Marilyn Monroe and Kate Moss to evocative, figurative pieces that explore passion and emotion.
The original artwork featured here, my b&w portrait of Marilyn Monroe, was auctioned at a children’s charity event close to my heart, raising an incredible £50,000! In this piece, I aimed to capture Marilyn’s timeless beauty, with her eyes telling her story. I hope this painting resonates with you as much as it does with me."
