Imagine a future where every family with a disabled child has the support they need to reach their full potential. That is what we are working towards at We Are Beams.

We support families every step of the way through the unique challenges of raising a disabled child. We do this by offering a variety of services including organised short breaks, holiday clubs, social activities, family support, financial advice, respite and overnight stays.

Every ticket you buy today will help children with disabilities.

You can enter online or request a book of 10 tickets that you can sell to your friends and family by emailing fundraising@wearebeams.org.uk.

We Are Beams believe that children like Harrison and those with the most complex disabilities can thrive and reach their full potential with the right support.

Beams support over 450 children and their families including Harrison who is 15 years old.

Harrison has 1p36 deletion syndrome, global development delay and epilepsy. He is non-verbal so communicates using an eye gaze; he can walk but loses balance easily, he needs 1:1 support for feeding and getting dressed.

We Are Beams have supported Harrison for many years, he attends Dragon’s Retreat respite overnight care once a month and kids camp holiday playschemes for children requiring one to one care enjoying trips to the seaside, sailing and other fun activities. Beams have given Harrison independence and his family respite from the constant cycle of care.

Harrison loves attending We Are Beams, where he feels safe and supported. His mother, Jenny, is so grateful for the charity's support.

"If we didn't have the support from Beams, I honestly don't know what we would do!" she said. "Beams are only a call away; we don't see Beams as friends; we see them as extended family!"

Harrison's story is a reminder that even children with the most complex disabilities can thrive and reach their full potential with the right support.

Our mission is to provide comprehensive support services to children and young people with any form of physical, learning or sensory impairment living in Dartford, Gravesham, Sevenoaks and the surrounding areas.

We aim to support the whole family through a range of services that directly benefit and assist those dealing with the challenges of raising a disabled child.
